Sainsbury's issues mixed update as Argos sales struggle

Grocery volumes are still heading in the right direction as inflation retreats

Sainsbury’s (SBRY) reported slower sales growth in its first quarter as supermarket trading came up against tough comparatives and non-grocery trading went backwards, but management stuck to its forecasts for the full year and flagged that “volume growth has remained strong as inflation has slowed”.
