Lessons from History: Does America Inc have real political allegiances?

Corporate America's big sectors do not always have fixed political alliances

  • They are not always governed by favourable policies

On the face of it, a second Trump administration is far more promising for American enterprise: lower taxes, lighter regulation, and a singular focus on the trajectory of the S&P 500 market index. But companies and markets appear to be shunning the incumbent President and are already voting with their (rather deep) pockets for the Democrat opponent Joe Biden.
